Country Market

Join us every second Sunday throughout the year from 12-4pm in the old cattle barn and enjoy an array of stalls. We are an organic farm so it is a very rustic setting and natural. You will find a wide range of locally sourced in season vegetables, organic duck & hen eggs, home baking, arts & crafts, flowers, personalised gifts, handmade Irish Candles from Galway and much, much more. We have a diverse set of stalls and are always looking for more crafts people to join us. In September 2022 myself & Chris are delighted to have teamed up with Charlie Mahon Ceramic Pottery. Charlie's work is exceptional and we also look forward to bringing you our online shop in the coming months.
There is no entrance fee to attend the market and it is a fantastic afternoon out for all the family. You can stroll through the farm and spend time with the animals. Most of our farm animals are rescues and they really love the attention. Pop by to the veg stall and say hello to Chris who will answer any questions you have about the farm and the animals. We also have coffee, tea and BBQ Gourmet Burgers. So don't be in a rush to leave, spend an hour or two enjoying the countryside along with browsing the exceptional hand crafted gifts on display.

Autumn is here so wrap up warm for the months ahead but don't worry if it is raining as it is held indoors. You may also notice some building work from October but that is so we can enclose the area to make it warmer in winter and you never know when the works are complete we may even organise an old fashioned barn dance!!
Also keep an eye out for our educational country walks where Chris will bring a group through the farm and down to the forestry. He will speak about the difference between organics, go through all the different plants & wildlife and also what we are doing now since we have been accepted to work with the NPWS to plan how we will work hand in hand to develop bespoke solutions to create, maintain and enhance conditions for some of Ireland's rarest and most threatened flora and fauna along with increasing the population of our Irish wildlife. Information will be posted to the website in the coming month.

We are committed to the protection of wildlife and developing the farm to ensure you have a real farm life experience. If you have any queries for the Country Market or wish to take a stall please call us or use the contact page to enquire.

Charlie Mahon Ceramics - New to Murtagh's from Sunday 11th September

Charlie Mahon is an award winning ceramic artist who is sometimes known as the ‘pottering artist’ Charlie uses white earthenware clay and his own recipe of hand painted glazes developed over the years. Everything is handmade, hand painted, fired in his own kiln in Cork, Ireland. Every piece of pottery is individually made and he adds his signature to everything he makes. His work is fun and stylish which tells a unique story. We at Murtagh’s Organic Farm are delighted to stock Charlie’s very popular Mackerel Collection along with the Grá Heart and the Witty Sheep Collection. These collections can be viewed as individual and different, bringing art to ceramics, design to your interiors and conversation to your dining table. Call out and chat to Gráinne about different collections, gift possibilities and personal orders. We will have a large collection of Charlie’s work on display from September 11th 2022
